Happy New Year!

It’s hard to believe that it’s back to school and work tomorrow. Colin has another two weeks off, the lucky duck. Austin not only starts in tomorrow, but also starts practices for the school musical that will take place in March. This year the musical is the Wizard of Oz. I can tell you one thing, Austin at 6’3” is not a munchkin. We had a wonderful Christmas. We missed Nathan who spent the holidays in Zambia. I think the cold weather scared him off. He will be home January 9th for a few weeks. And of course, we missed our Hannah.

This month I start a new venture in my life. I am going to serve on an advisory board for bereaved parents at Memorial Sloan Kettering where Hannah was treated. This is a new program that is being started. I have been attending the monthly bereavement group since Hannah passed away. I don’t know how helpful I will be, since it is a lonely journey, but I know that I can shed tears and listen as so many listened to me.

This is our 136 post on Hannah’s Journey, and we started writing about Hannh’s Journey with Osteosarcoma 6 years ago this month. When we started this website, we never dreamed we would continue it as long as we have, or that Hannah’ journey with cancer would end with her losing the battle. This is also going to be our last post. We have many people who still follow the website, but it is time for us to move on. We hope to have a new site dedicated to the Hannh
Crossley Foundation at some point this year. We use the foundation to help other families with children suffering from cancer, to help find a cure for osteosarcoma (Journey of Hope, started by Austin) and to give scholarships to other students who have worked to overcome a difficult time in their life.

It is impossible to express to you all how much you mean to our family. You have been with us for so many years, starting when Hannah was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10. You have helped us, loved us, and especially loved our daughter. Our family became your familyand our lives were enriched because of it. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you all!
