Hannah’s Journey

I picked up Bill and Hannah from Sloan yesterday. Her oncology team decided to hold off another week to start chemo to make sure that her heart was okay. Hannah had an echocardiogram yesterday, and preliminary results show that there wasn’t any fluid collecting around the heart. We will try again Monday for the next round of chemo. We received the results from her scans on Friday. The bone scan came out clean, however, the cat scan is showing a spot on her left lung, which is where the cancer had relapsed to. Hannah’s team is watching this closely, but the feeling is that it may just be scar tissue. The cat scan will be repeated in 6 weeks, and if it is scar tissue, the area should shrink. We are not sure if she will have surgery to remove the spot and have it biopsied in the future. In the meantime, we try not to worry until we have the next cat scan done.
