September 11, 2007 First Treatment

Today was Hannah’s first treatment of antibodies. I talked to Bill and he said everything is going smoothly (except for the 4 HOUR car ride into the city this morning). It is such a relief to be past the month waiting period and to feel like something is being done to help Hannah. Bill took Hannah for a Cat Scan last week, and although the tumor has grown, it was not as bad as we anticipated. She will be going back to Sloan for blood tests all week, but then plans on returning to school. I know how how happy she will be that I went and picked up all the work she has missed so far. Guess what she’ll be doing this weekend?

The first week of school went fairly smoothly for the rest of us. Colin started his senior year in high school and Austin moved up to the Middle School and is in 6th grade. Nathan’s first week went smoothly also as he starts his junior year at NYU. I made the acquaintance of 43 new 3 and 4 year olds and already know that I will love every single one of them.

Please continue to pray for Hannah that this new treatment is successful, and will be the first step in helping other children fighting this disease.
