October 15, 2007

Last Tuesday’s treatment went well for Hannah. She went down to the city in the morning with Bill and then I went down after work to pick her up. Bill had a flight to catch out of LaGuardia Airport, so it didn’t make sense for him to drive all the way back to Goshen. Of course, the flight ended up getting cancelled, so he came home later that night anyway. Tomorrow, I will pick her up after work and take her down for her bloodwork.

We were able to get some quality shopping in this weekend. Of course, now Hannah has two dresses to choose from for Homecoming. The decision has to be made by tomorrow because we still have to run out and get shoes to match the dress. Always fun to wander around a shopping mall.

This past Friday, Bill got a call from one of the nurses from Sloan. There is a foundation called the Sunshine Kids, and their purpose is to take kids on and off treatment away from hospitals, treatments, IVs and doctors and give them a week of pure fun and enjoyment. Sooooo, on November 4th, Hannah will be winging her way to Hawaii with three other kids from Sloan and one nurse practitioner. They will meet up with other kids from other hospitals and their nurses and spend a week in the sun. Hannah is very excited and can’t wait. Good thing I haven’t had a chance to put away the summer clothes.

Hopefully, next time I post, we will have pictures of Hannah and Colin in their Homecoming finery. So many people have helped make this a special occasion for Hannah and we thank you all so much.
