Yesterday, Hannah went for her 9th (and hopefully, final) platelet transfusion of this chemo cycle. Her counts are slowly starting to come up. Because of all the chemo she received with her first bout of cancer, and what she has received this time so far, her bone marrow is taking longer to replace all the cells. She also has developed antibodies to other people’s platelets. She will continue to receive transfusions, but they are not as effective. However, this week she is feeling great, and will be able to attend the musical Hairspray, on Broadway, with her 8th grade class tomorrow. She had a beautiful day for her Confirmation and we were so happy she was able to be there for the service. At this point, chemo remains scheduled for next week.
