Hannah’s Journey

It’s been a while since we posted. Hannah has been having a difficult time this cycle. We were able to get away without going for a transfusion last Monday, but on Wednesday, she was dehydrated, had low bood pressure, and needed a blood and platelet transfusion, on Wednesday she needed platelets, and Monday, needed blood and platelets. She has had an especially hard time getting her platelet count to rebound. To give you an idea of what she is facing, very low normal for her would be 140,000 platelets. On Monday, she only had 1000 platelets. On Tuesday afternoon, she had to be admitted to the hospital to deal with problems that have arisen because of that low platelet count. She has had several transfusions to keep the count up. Hopefully, she will be out in time for her Confirmation this Sunday. Chemo is suppose to resume this Monday, but we anticipate it being postponed a week to give her additional time to recover. Her spirits remain high, and she is so happy because tonight she is blessed with Nathan spending the night at the hopital with her. That should raise her blood pressure.
