May 13, 2007 Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day! It is such a nice day outside. I think for Mother’s Day, we are going to spend time out in the yard. Yesterday, we spent the day washing cars. Our Challenger team for the Relay for Life had a car wash fundraiser, and spent 7 hours hard at work. I don’t think there was ever a lull in the action. We raised a good amount of money to donate to the American Cancer Society, and we appreciate everyone who came out and lent a hand. Thanks to Mrs. Baker and Miss Angelone, Hannah’s English and math teachers, who not only gave up their Saturday to be the staff on board, but washed and dried cars right along with us. the Relay for Life is scheduled at Goshen High School for the evening of June 8.

Hannah’s surgery is still on for May 21. We did not get away without blood and platelet transfusions. We had to go down both Monday and Wednesday for both, and then went back on Thursday to meet with her surgeon. The plan is to remove both the tumor in her lung and the mass in her lymph node within the same surgery. I think the plan is to wrap her in bubble wrap, so that nothing will postpone the surgery again (ha, ha).

Hope everyone has a great day. Enjoy the beautiful weather.
