June 7, 2007 Chemo Resumes

Hannah and I (mom) headed down to Sloan on Tuesday to meet with the surgeon. He wanted to make sure Hannah was doing well, but also needed to clear her for chemo. She has been doing great and recovering nicely. Everything checked out okay and her team decided to start her chemo that same day. Hannah was fine with that, however, we did have plans for a pedicure at noon with Aunt Dori and Cousin Laura. Her oncologist, being the father of 3 daughters, told us to go get our toes done and come back. We had a great time, and chemo went without a hitch. So far, Hannah is feeling well, and will have her next infusion on Tuesday.

We have a new member of our family. We became the proud owners of a 9 week old Lab mix named Dixie. She is as cute as can be and the kids are having a great time with her. She enjoys going outside on her leash, attacking the leash and wrestling it to the ground, and then flushed with success, returning inside and promptly doing her business on the kitchen floor. Aren’t puppies great?

We are gearing up for the Relay for Life this Friday night. We are hoping the weather holds and we don’t get the torrential rain that we got last year. The relay kicks off with the survivor’s lap at 6:00, and ends at 6:00 the following morning. I’ve told Bill to get lots of sleep this week since he gets to be one of the dads spending the night at the high school. The Challengers team has done a great job raising money for cancer research, and it should be a fun night.
