Summer vacation is finally here! It is so nice not to set the alarm, but it is amazing how you seem to wake up anyway. At least you can roll over and go back to sleep if you want.
We have been very busy the last few weeks. Goshen held its annual Relay for Life on June 18th, and once again it was very successful. Our relay team had 50 members, and we ate and walked all day. It was very hot so we drank a ton of water also. I had requested nice weather from Hannah, and she worked her magic. I forgot to request no humidity. Guess I will have to be very specific next time.
Goshen held it’s graduation this past Saturday. It was postponed one day because of weather, but Saturday ended up being beautiful. It was iffy for a while; there where some rumbles of thunder, but we got it in. I was lucky to get a nice sunburn on my neck, and was especially lucky to award a scholarship in Hannah’s name to a remarkable young man who spent his senior year battling the same cancer as Hannah. I know what he went through to be there on Saturday, and I know Hannah would be thrilled that he was awarded her scholarship. Congratulations to all the graduates!
It’s hard to believe it’s almost the 4th of July. Nathan is flying into New York on the 30th, and he is having a bunch of his friends from college spend the weekend. It will be nice to see all of them. Nathan’s friends have spent a lot of time at our house over the years, and it is always great to have them visit.
Colin and Austin are relaxing, but have also been helping Bill and I around the house. Colin has 2 jobs this summer that also keep him busy.
