The seventh round of chemo is now history. Hannah had a pretty good week until Friday, when she was just worn out. Of course, we had ventured home for the Eighth Grade moving up ceremony. Hannah was chosen by the teachers and administrators to receive the Mary Fancourt Award, in honor of a guidance counselor who had died of cancer. The award is given to a student who is a good student, and always has a positive attitude. We made it to the ceremony just as they were presenting the award. She was so excited to receive it. We headed back to the city the same afternoon, and finished chemo off on Friday. Of course, the second time she attended school since chemo started in December, she picked up a bad cold. The other time she attended was when she caught the flu. So far though, she is not running a fever, so she has not had to go back to the hospital. Tomorrow she gets blood counts taken and she has already indicated that she feels the need for a transfusion. (low energy). We are hoping that we only have to make day trips in this cycle and will be able to stay out of the in-patient side. Of course, the suitcase always remains packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
