Hannah was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning. She has very bad mouth sores, which were causing her a lot of pain. Once we were at Sloan Kettering, her doctor decided to admit her because he felt that by evening she would have a fever and have to come right back. She didn’t even make it until 2:00. Good thing he was thinking ahead. She is feeling much better. Once she is admitted, she is hooked up to fluids and given antibodies through her IV to take care of any infections that may arise while her count is down. Her fever is gone, however her blood pressure dropped very low again, as did her platelets and hemoglobin. She had transfusions which brought her blood pressure back up. Unfortunately, once you are admitted for fever, you are in for the long haul. She most likely won’t be released until her counts get back up, hopefully the end of next week. I was with her last night, but tonight, to her great joy and delight, Nathan is once again her roommate. I will give her a break and return on Friday, and Bill will take over on Sunday.
