I have sat down so many times at the computer to update the web site and always get back up without writing. It’s been a long 8 weeks, but we have managed to stay busy. Bill and I were able to get away for a weekend thanks to some good friends a few weeks ago. It was much needed time to ourselves. While we were gone, Colin decided the family needed a new pet and purchased a hamster. Floyd the hamster rejoined his brothers and sisters back at the pet store the next day when I got home. Nathan, the supportive brother that he is, kept following me around the day I got home. I found out later he was waiting for the fireworks when I discovered Floyd’s existence. According to him, I did not disappoint.
Colin has been busy with end of senior year activities. He finished his track season, finished the physical work on his Eagle project (still has to write it up), and is looking forward to class day this Thursday and graduation on June 27. Austin is just looking forward to summer vacation. He will have the opportunity to return to Happiness is Camping this summer with Nathan. I’m sure both boys will feel the hole deeply without Hannah at camp, but are looking forward to seeing their friends.
This Friday night is Relay for Life. The Relay was very important to Hannah, and she stayed involved in all the planning. All the boys will be walking and so Bill and I will be spending the night, however we know that it will be a very emotional night for us. The Relay starts off with the Survivor’s lap at 6:00 p.m. and has a beautiful luminaria ceremony at 9:00 p.m. If you have never heard of the Relay for Life, the website is http://events.cancer.org/RFLgoshenNY. Check it out and maybe consider a team some day. The relays are held all over the country.
The school year is winding down for me also. It was nice to get back to work and get back into the world of 3 and 4 year olds. Bill has been staying busy at work too, however I know that I speak for all of us when I say not a moment goes by that we do not think of Hannah. Thanks to all for continuing to check in and give us support.
