Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We had fun, even through the rain. A little rain never matters when you are spending the time with friends. Hannah had the second dose of chemo this past Tuesday. It went well, and so far she is holding up pretty good. She will get her blood counts done at camp and I am sure she will be making a few trips in to Sloan for blood or platelets. She has completed 3 rounds of chemo now. If her body can handle it, she can have up to 14 rounds. We still have a long road ahead, but as everyone says, “one day at a time.”
Hannah and Austin are packed and ready to go to Happiness is Camping. They are anxious to see all of their friends from camp and their counselors, too. We drove out to camp last week to take Nathan out for his birthday. It’s hard to believe he is no longer a teenager. We had a visit from Cousin Michelle also, and took her along for the ride. Michelle lives in Milwaukee and came and spent a few days with us. We had fun and on a side note, I feel I should let everyone know we had a competitive game of miniature golf and I (mom) smoked the competition. Colin is still in shock from his defeat, so I will probably frame the scorecard and hang it in his room. To add insult to injury, after a really, really bad start, Hannah came from behind and beat him also. He will need the time away from his siblings to recover from his crushing defeat.
Time to rouse the troops and get everyone ready to go for the ride to camp. I, of course, have been up since 5:30 with that cute new canine of ours. Have a great weekend.
