Hannah’s Journey

I picked up Hannah and Austin from camp on Friday. It was great to see them and Nathan also. Both kids looked tanned and healthy, and I think Austin got taller in 10 days. Unfortunately, at this time they cannot return to camp next week because Hannah is “quarantined.” Because there was a possible exposure to shingles, she could develop them for the next 7 or 21 days. 25 children are unable to return to camp until week 6 because of the exposure (this includes siblings who will not attend because their siblings are immune compromised). Camp cannot take the chance of other children becoming exposed. Blood tests were taken to see if she could fight off the chicken pox virus, but the results probably will not be in until Wednesday. With surgery scheduled for July 28, she will be able to attend the last week of camp with Austin if it is allowed by her surgeon so soon after surgery (10 days). Keep your fingers crossed!
