Well, New York is pretty much in a tizzy because the Giants are headed to the Super Bowl. To my cousins in northern Wisconsin, who from their Christmas letters I have determined that at least half of the family are Green Bay Packer fans, only nine months until next season. Nine long months. Just kidding, the time will go by quickly.
This past December, Hannah started her sixth year fighting this long, difficult battle with cancer. She is doing much better these days. She is getting some of her strength and energy back, and is starting to eat a little bit more. We have been going to Sloan weekly for check-ups, transfusions and just to get some fluids back into her body. She will be having scans soon, and then hopefully we can get her started in a new clinical trial that also uses an antibody treatment. There has to be a month between any type of treatment, which includes the radiation, so we cannot do anything until into February. We are continuing with the twice daily injections of blood thinner and will be having a scan in the next few weeks to determine how the blood clot is breaking up.
Hannah will be returning to school tomorrow for midterm week. Even though she will be taking tests, she will only have to go to school 3 half days, so it eases her back into the school day. She has finally caught up on her schoolwork by being tutored at home and hopefully will go back to school full time second semester. I think she is very anxious to get back into the swing of things.
