Hannah’s Journey

Hi Everyone,

The first week of freshman year has come and gone, and it was a good week for Hannah. She was so glad to be back at school. It was tiring for her, and she was developing headaches by the end of the day, but each week should get easier and easier. We have begun her treatments at home, and hope that these treatments will help Hannah in her fight. This treatment is very new, there are only 2 other children besides Hannah who are on it at Sloan. We will be heading back to
Sloan on October 17 to see her orthopedic surgeon, and to get her port flushed. We are not sure when they are going to remove her port, or if they are going to leave it in for a while. On October 23, we will go for her first post chemo check up and cat scan. Hannah has returned back to school just in time for Homecoming. Not that she and I need any excuse to shop, but it was a good excuse to go out and buy a new dress. Oh, and by the way Bill, she’s going to need new shoes to match the dress, and a new shawl, and new earrings, etc.

Hannah’s 1st day of school, Oct 3, was very exciting. She pointed out to mom that over the last 5 years, she has been in only one grade where she attended from the first official day to the last (without tudors). Let’s hope that this is the beginning to a long streak of perfect attendance.
