August 1, 2007

Hannah and Austin have returned to camp for the last session of the summer. This session goes until 8/9, so it is a nice span of time to finish out the summer. We got to camp late on Monday because we had to make a side trip to Sloan for blood and platelets. They wanted to “tank” her up for camp. Hannah did not feel well all weekend, so hopefully the transfusions will help. She did get off the couch long enough to go see Hairspray with me at the theater on Sunday, while Bill took Austin to see the Simpson movie. Hopefully, Hannah will not have to go back to the city before next Tuesday, which is her next session of chemo.

This summer is just flying by. Nathan has to be back at school on August 17th, so he will only get about a week to unwind before heading off. This year, he will be a resident assistant in a dorm, so it will be a new challenge for him. Bill and I took advantage of the kids being gone yesterday and went into the city to celebrate our wedding anniversery, or as I like to say, the best 25 years of Bill’s life. Colin had his first situation with the car since getting his license 3 weeks ago. He hit a skunk. When I stop laughing, I will let him know that this type of incident is the sort of thing that will be brought out for years and never forgotten. Dixie is now 4 months old and has grown bigger than Copper. She still thinks 5:30 a.m. is a great time to start the day, unlike Copper who is content to stay on my bed until sometime in the afternoon.

Thanks for continuing to check in on Hannah. It is good to know that we have such a support system out there rooting and praying for her to beat this.
